Significance of Matangi Yantra

Shri Matangi Devi bestows siddhi of speech, and promotes sangeet or music of the sadhaka. Matangi is considered as the tantric form of Sarasvati, the goddess of music and learning. Matangi governs speech, music, knowledge and learning. Her worship is prescribed to acquire supernatural powers, gaining control over enemies, attracting people and acquiring mastery over arts and gaining supreme knowledge.

This yantra  is made on Bhooj Patra with Ashal Gand or on gold, silver or Copper plate. After its installation, daily pooja of the Devi is be performed with mantra while sitting in sidhasana.

The mantra is as follows:

"Om Hareem Matangayee Namah" 
ॐ ह्रीं मातंग्यै नम ॥


After doing all Nayas, Kavach path of Devi should be recited and then puja of the yantra performed for one lakh times, followed with "Homa" for ten thousand mantras.

Japa Mantra 

"Om Hareem Kaleem Houm Matangayee Phut Swaha"
 ॐ ह्रीं क्लीं हुं मातंग्यै फट् स्वाहा ॥

Matangi Mahavidya

Matangi is one of the ten Mahavidyas. Matangi is the Goddess of the spoken word and supernatural power. Matangi represent ferocious aspect of Devi, the Hindu Divine Mother. Matangi is the dark one, a tantric form of Saraswati. Matangi governs speech, music, knowledge and the arts.


Matangi is incarnated as the daughter of Matang Rishi. Matangi is worshipped to acquire supernatural powers, especially gaining control over enemies, attracting people, acquiring mastery over the arts and gaining supreme knowledge. Matangi is invoked to achieve command over speech, creativity and knowledge.

Matangi Dhyan

Dusky, beautiful browed, her three eyes like lotuses, seated on a jewelled lion-throne, surrounded by gods and others serving her, holding in her four lotus-like hands a noose and a sword, a shield and a goad, thus I remember Matangi, the giver of results, the Modini.
