Sit on a white mat facing North. If the child is  incapable, the parents can do Sadhana on his/her behalf. Worship the Saraswati Yantra With flowers. Immerse It in honey and chant 11 rounds of Saraswati Mantra with a Sphatik Mala.

Saraswati Mantra:

ऐं ऐं ऐं वाग्दैव्यै ऐं ऐं ऐं नमः 

Take some honey on the tip of your ring finger and with it write the sanskrit syllable  'ऐं'  on the child's tongue. Next day throw the Yantra and rosary in-a pond or river.
